Description: FAMILY AND POWER IN THE MIDDLE AGES KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: PROF. LINDY GRANT & DR JENNIFER WARD. 7-8 APRIL 2017. We are pleased to invite abstracts for a two day conference on the theme of Family and Power taking place at Canterbury Christ Church University on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th April 2017. We are delighted to welcome Prof. Lindy Grant (University of Reading) and Dr. Jennifer Ward who will be delivering keynote lectures on Blanche of Castile and the role of the grandmother respectively. We welcome proposals for papers on a wide variety of topics (some suggestions below) connected to the theme on any aspect of medieval Europe (c. 500–c. 1500) and all levels of society. We are hoping to secure funding in order to be able to provide a number of travel bursaries for postgraduate students and early career researchers (ECRs) presenting at the conference.
