The DfE has revealed that as part of the curriculum review, they will be investigating and reporting on primary staffing and structure. This report it is thought will be influenced by Alexander's Cambridge Review, which recommended specialist teaching in years 5 and 6. What do you think? Do we need specialist teachers at primary level, or is it more important to retain generalists? What impact might this have on training needs?

I wonder if there is a difference between specialist teaching and specialist teachers. I know that the language of the Cambridge Primary Review is selected and used with great care. I am a primary generalist and able to provide specialist teaching in history and geography because of high quality CPD provided by LAs and the HA.
