2015 Key Stage 3 Anniversaries Competition Winners announced

Published: 22nd June 2015

We asked students in key stage 3 to produce a remembrance poster for a person/event anniversary that means something to them, telling us why the person or event should be remembered.

The judges were impressed by the standard of the entries and had a difficult job deciding between such a wide range of different choices. Following a difficult decision, judges chose year 9 pupil Anna Van Den Bos of Alton Convent School as the winner with her piece on Willem Van Den Bos. This was closely followed by runner up year 7 pupil Ali Akbar Shajareh of Al-Sadiq and Al-Zahra school who produced a poster remembering the 20th anniversary of the conflict and events in the former Yugoslavia.

Honourable mentions also go to year 7 pupil George Dunne-Perry of Tavistock College for his piece on the 110th anniversary of Einstein's Theory of Relativity and to Matthew Phillips of St Robert of Newminster Humanities College for his piece on operation PLUTO.

Winners will have the text of posters published plus HA goodies, and all mentioned will receive HA pinbadges.

Well done to all who entered!
