New Secondary Curriculum Update
The contract with cfbt to support the implementation of the New Secondary Curriculum ends on March 31st. There will be no more free support to help you implement the NSC. However, the Historical Association will continue to add materials relating to the development of the NSC to its website...
Recent additions focus on the development of cross-curricular working with other subjects. We also intend to produce materials supporting the introduction of the New Primary Curriculum. Some of these are already online, and this area of our work will continue to expand too.
One of the real successes of the New Secondary Curriculum contract has been the Regional Subject Advisers. They have established contacts with many local networks and Local Authorities across their region, as well as being able to respond to the needs of teachers in supporting the implementation of the NSC.
The HA has decided to continue to provide support in each region via Regional History Advisers, available to answer your queries and deliver workshops, twilight sessions or CPD days on request. The only difference is that this service will no longer be free. You will have to pay for any services you request. But of course you will have the HA quality guarantee that any support will be of the highest standard. If the Regional History Adviser can't deliver what you want they will know the best person to ask!
