35th Annual Nonsuch Summer Course VENUS & MARS Brawls Of Love & War

Period Dance & Stage Combat. 19th to 22nd August 2011

Ashville College, Harrogate

The Course has been designed to allow students to focus on either dance or combat. There will be some opportunities for everyone to participate in introductory classes. There will be sessions combining all the students on the course and consideration of dramatic presentation and performance.

The course can cater to all levels of experience and ability, including beginners and advanced. There will be opportunities to focus on teaching methods and connections to the school curriculum from primary to professional levels, as appropriate to the individual student.

Anyone with skills in music is encouraged to bring musical instrument(s) to join part of the consort, if desired. Those interested in acting may wish to rehearse dramatic scenes and participate in historical presentations and Shakespeare scenes. There will be opportunity to sing and dance together, and attend historical talks and tours of the area to discover the local history.

The course is fully-residential, with non-residential option available. All meals are provided, with refreshments and water served at intervals throughout the day.
