Re-thinking the Image of China in Global History

Following the recent discovery of a set of rare prints from the Qing Dynasty in the John Rylands Collection, The University of Manchester will host this special lecture in association of the forthcoming conference Representing China: from the Jesuits to Zhang Yimou.

Professor Benjamin Elman, Head of East Asian Studies, Princeton University will deliver the lecture which will be chaired by The Honourable Hugh Davies, Chairman of The China Association and former senior British diplomat in China & Hong Kong.

Prints will be available to view before and after the lecture and the event will be followed by a drinks reception.
