Learning Technologist award
Vital teams up with ALT to reward outstanding use of learning technology
Entries are due by 10 June for the Association for Learning and Technology (ALT) Learning Technologist of the Year 2010 award, which this year is co-sponsored by Vital.
The award, now in its fourth year, rewards those who have made an outstanding achievement in the field of learning technology. Vital is sponsoring the second stream of this year's award, which is open to anyone working for a provider funded by the Department for Education (DfE).
There are up to six cash prizes available - three for the top individuals and another three for the top teams. These can be for a specific ICT-related project or more sustained use of technology within the learning environment. Entries will be judged by a panel, headed by ALT President Steve Ryan, and the winners announced at its annual conference in Nottingham on 8 September.
"We're delighted that Vital is sponsoring the 2010 award," said Seb Schmoller, Chief Executive of ALT. "The award is all about recognising professionals who are using ICT to add value to their teaching and the learner experience, and that's exactly the idea behind Vital as well."
Vital Programme Director Peter Twining said the award was an important step in helping to encourage good practice within the area of ICT. "Vital is supporting teachers in enhancing the use of technology across the curriculum, and it's important that those practitioners who are leading the way in demonstrating what works (and helping others understand what doesn't) get the recognition they deserve."
