Mummy is it true that I'm going to have to stay at school forever?
Not now dear. Mummy's trying to work out how to explain to the head that cutting the number of specialist teachers at Key Stage 3 is not necessarily the best way of securing more high level passes at GCSE. I don't want to sound ungrateful. Putting history in two of the option blocks this year has given our numbers a huge boost, but with the staffing for the extra groups coming straight out of Key Stage 3, I'm not sure he's really grasped the basic principles of progression....
