Choosing History at 14 Pack

In the past, history has had to fight for its place as an option subject. Following the introduction of the English Baccalaureate, the impact upon history in terms of GCSE take-up is still yet to be fully seen. Whatever the case, you as a history teacher or curriculum leader may find your self in the position of needing to make the case for history either to parents and students thinking about their choices, or to parents and students who have been steered towards the subject without a full appreciation of its relevance and importance. Our Choosing History materials have been carefully put together to help you as a department make the best case for history during the options process.
