Saturday - Session 1 - SSMM1

Making the most of the new secondary history curriculum Michael Maddison HMI and Ofsted's National Lead for History

This workshop will look at the requirements of the new National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 (and Key Stage 2). It will focus on what you must do as well as what you might do. It will include practical approaches to key stage planning and cover specific curriculum suggestions and teaching ideas gathered during the year which might help you make the most of the opportunities offered by the changes. Please bring a copy of your proposed 2014 Key Stage 3 outline curriculum on one side of A4 to share with colleagues.

The attached examples are not exemplars but plans which are being drafted by teachers around the country and have been uploaded here to enable colleagues to share their thinking and to enrich discussion and debate as to how to structure the new curriculum requirements.
