This section of the website contains advice and guidance for history teachers at different career stages, and those specifically interested in finding out about formal opportunities for history-specific CPD (continuing professional development). It includes a section for Beginners, with materials intended for those who are just beginning to explore the idea of becoming a history teacher and want to find out more about different routes into the profession, as well as specific guidance for those who are currently training to teach. Further tailored advice is offered to Early Career Teachers and some of these materials may also be useful to teachers of other subjects who have taken on history without any formal training. Those responsible for supporting history trainees and newly qualified history teachers can also find a wealth of advice and resources to support their work in the section on Mentoring. We also have a number of resources for Teacher educators.
