Event Type: CPD

Takes Place: 12th March 2020

Time: 4.00pm - 5.00pm

Venue: Online

Description: In the 14th century an epidemic disease spread throughout Europe causing catastrophic mortality and changing the face of late medieval life in ways which could not be imagined only a few decades earlier. The effects of the Black Death in England are well-recorded in a number of sources, but along with the reduction of England’s population by between a third and half, there were significant social and cultural shifts. This webinar with Claire Kennan will explore the changing relationship between ‘employer’ and ‘employee’ in the post-Black Death age, the hotly debated issue of the ‘golden age’ of women and changes in art, architecture and religion which had a huge impact on the everyday lives of ordinary people across the country.
