Quality Mark

Published: 8th March 2017

Young people and schools need quality historical provision. The Historical Association Quality Mark (QM) is all about recognition of the excellent history provision you the teacher, your department and your school offer young people. The Quality Mark provides a framework for success whether you are looking to gain the acknowledgement you deserve, or whether you are looking to improve your provision.

We are extremely proud of all our QM schools, and of the real QM community that is already beginning to grow. In the first six months of the full national roll out of the mark more than 40 schools have applied to participate in the scheme and we look forward to seeing our Quality Mark community grow. With every QM award, of course comes a case study of some of the practice that has led to the award. The QM is more than just an award; it is a platform for discussion, debate and sharing different ideas about what makes for a quality history education.

If you would like to find out more about how your school can take part, or you would like to take a look at some of our QM case studies, take a look at the resources in this section.
