A post cold war world: The last decade of the 20th century saw a sea change in the political systems of the Soviet Bloc and a corresponding re-orientation of international politics. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989 and the unravelling of the Soviet State in 1991, the Cold War became a memory instead of something we all lived with. In its place we have the age of capitalism, nationalism, terrorism and the new ideological war between Islamic fundamentalism and the Born Again Christianity of America.
