The Olympics historical dimension opens up a plethora of possibilities for history, projects and integrated approaches that draw upon the themes and approaches that underpin the primary school curriculum. Our top ten are:

1. Home and family

Personal memories, activities and celebrations that family members can remember and recount. Oral history/personal testimony is important here.

2. The school and the Olympics:

How did the school react to previous Olympics? If the school was in existence in 1948 are there any records of what it did in relation to the London Olympics of that year? Are there any local memories? [although a bit late now, that generation is fading away...
