The HA runs a number of competitions for students aged between 14 and 19 years.

The Great Debate is a debating competition for students in the UK & Ireland aged between 15 and 19 that takes place every two years. Heats for the next competition will be taking place in Autumn 2014.

Students have 5 minutes to produce a speech on the set question. Previous questions have been: Why does history matter to you? Why does your local hero matter.

We have also run podcast competitions with BBC History Magazine.
