The session will examine:
- The direction of SEND reform and Ofsted’s focus on inclusion – and what these mean for history teaching
- Common misconceptions about provision for pupils with SEND
- Moving from reactive to proactive curriculum design
- Appropriate interventions for pupils with SEND
- A subject leader’s expectations of departmental staff in supporting pupils with SEND
- Strategies for bringing the department with you
Participants will leave with an audit tool to evaluate their department’s current practice.
