Introduction

Unfortunately I'm old enough to remember a time when primary school teachers, bereft of ideas and information, would take to drink in the hope that in vino veritas inspiration would follow. The Heritage Explorer website would have been a godsend in those far-off days.

I hesitate to describe it as, ‘just about everything you need to know to teach history' but in some ways it's pretty near the mark...
