Description: n this session, I will discuss what it means to make progress in History and provide formative assessment strategies that will help you move beyond the basics of checking for understanding and help you unpick student progress in their historical thinking. Drawing on over 20 years of experience in the classroom and recent learning from an MSc in Educational Assessment, this session will provide lots of practical ideas and opportunities to share good practice with other colleagues. Sally has been a history teacher since 2003. She is currently Assistant Headteacher at Montpelier High School in Bristol. She is also an assessment enthusiast, working as a senior examiner on GCS History for Pearson and undertaking an MSc in Educational Assessment at the University of Oxford this year.
