Teaching about twentieth-century social change through the history of education

The Secondary Education and Social Change (SESC) research project team at the University of Cambridge collaborated with four secondary school history teachers to produce resource packs for teaching Key Stage 3 pupils about post-war British social history through the history of secondary education.

In this article, Chris Jeppesen explains the focus of the project and the design of the resource packs. He makes a case for teaching post-war British social history and shows the value of education as a lens through which to do so.
