Curriculum 2000 offers stronger emphasis on making links between Britain and the wider world. This is welcomed but this itself does not guarantee a more multicultural history curriculum. Overall there is probably insufficient stress on the affective side. Sections of the Orders give examples of how history can contribute to spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, to the citizenship programme and to key skills.
