Challenges of the project

The following aspects of my project were challenging:

  • Older members of our community are reluctant to participate as they are modest and don't value their knowledge. Getting past this takes a lot of persuasion.
  • Finances were probably underestimated in planning (I thought I could do more in a day than I really could) I overcame this by working on in it in my free time (a rare thing in a Principal's Diary ).
  • As the project picked up momentum people and pupils wanted to do more things and resources had to be found from other community grants.
Difficult to get partner schools to have the same enthusiasm for the project and buy in with time etc. when they haven't been involved from the conception of the idea.
