Escape from Chernobyl

Review by Antonina
I loved reading Escape from Chernobyl, it was informative on the incident of Chernobyl in Pripyat and had a very moving but interesting storyline following many characters and their viewpoints. In my opinion my favourite character was Yuri because we got to see his point of view of being in Chernobyl when the explosion happened, I also thought Hedeon Kozlovs point of view was very informative on how leaders acted when dealing with the explosion. I really enjoyed reading about this story through a wide range of viewpoints as it helped me understand what emotions different people were feeling while experiencing the explosion and what they did. This book helped me learn a lot about Chernobyl and did it in a very immersive way with interesting but easy to follow explanations on how Chernobyl worked and what happened when the explosion took place. Beforehand I have heard and explored the subject of Chernobyl however this book was really informative and helped me understand what people would be feeling in real life at the time. I think the plot was very interesting and made you want to keep reading but it also was very devastating on what people had to do or decided to do to save loved ones or survive from the catastrophe. In my opinion  the book was fast paced, and I liked how everything in the book happened over 1 day which also showed how much was happening at the same time and how quick it was all happening. I would definitely recommend this book to other students as it is entertaining, informative, emotional and now my favourite book.
