Trees

Primary History article

By Ailsa Fidler, published 29th February 2024

This article includes a compilation of a series of articles about significant trees around Britain. It is hoped that this will prompt readers to explore their own environments, helping children to engage with and enjoy nature. Some of the trees in the article are designated as Great Trees. These were significant trees identified by members of the public after the Great Storm of 1987. Our poster will show you where to find them, as well as listing some other significant trees. The authors consider the importance of trees as historical indicators of significant events and individuals, as well as the passing of time.
