Description: Head of one of the largest and most important collections of decorative art in the world, Caroline De Guitaut is an art historian and curator with more than thirty years experience. Responsible for the curatorial and conservation departments of His Majesty’s Royal Collection, her work and experience encompasses the needs of arms, armour, ceramics, clocks, fashion, furniture, metalwork, tapestries, textiles and jewellery, as well as the Crown Jewels. She will deliver a lecture on royal clothes and fashion explaining the extraordinary and often poorly understood elements that define the style of a female monarch, including the unusual requirements and very special sort of dress code that royal queens adhere to.
