Description: A.N. Wilson is known to many as a respected author and journalist. He has written biographies, novels and historical works, as well as articles for numerous publications. We are delighted that he is joining us to talk about his new book ‘The Wise and their Works: The Legacy of the Great Exhibition of 1851’, which explores the people behind that pivotal event and the ambitious ideas that helped to define a century. In this webinar we will explore the history in the book as well as how he carried out his research and selected the stories of the people of the period. A.N. Wilson is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and is a prolific and award-winning biographer and celebrated novelist, having written biographies of Tolstoy, C.S. Lewis, Milton, Hilaire Belloc and Goethe. In 2007, Wilson's novel, 'Winnie and Wolf,' was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize and in 2020 'The Mystery of Charles Dickens' was published to great critical acclaim.
