Earlham Hall: A New Landscape History
Event Type: Branch
Takes Place: 12th June 2027
Time: 14:00
Venue: The UEA
Description: Earlham Hall is a well-known landmark on the University campus, and the hall and its landscape have a long history stretching back into the medieval period. Recent research has uncovered important new archival material about the architectural history and landscape of the Hall, as well as its inhabitants. This talk by Dr Sarah Spooner (starting at 2 pm) will cover these new findings, as well as the wider context of country houses in Norfolk. It will be followed by an optional walk (starting at 3 pm) around the designed landscape, using historic maps and archaeology to uncover the history of the landscape.
