HA Webinar series: The power of maps

Webinar series

Event Type: HA

Takes Place: 11th December 2025

Time: 5.00pm

Venue: Online

Description: Historians use maps a lot - or at least they should. They help us to understand global relations, environmental and social change and they help to reveal how the world was understood and explored in the past. This webinar series is an opportunity to hear three world class academics explore different aspects of history and historical understanding over four talks that look at the Power of Maps. If you are interested in exploration, geo-politics, political movements or urbanisation then these talks will be right up your National ordinance surveyed street - don't miss out. The talks are presented by Professor James Cheshire (University College London) and author of 'The Library of Lost Books'. Professor Katrina Navickas (University of Hertfordshire) and Professor Laura Vaughan (University College London). All sessions will take place via Zoom. You will be added to all sessions and receive joining instructions the week before the first session.

How to book: Via link below. This will take you to our booking site Cademy.

Price: Free & open to all. Recordings of talks will be available to HA members.
