History and Citizenship
E-CPD

N.B. This unit was produced before the 2014 curriculum and therefore while much of the advice is still useful, there may be some out of date references or links.
The UNIT provides guidance and help for teachers and support staff to embed the combined teaching of History and Citizenship - History & Citizenship teaching - in their teaching of Historical, Geographical and Social Understanding, the Creative and Performing Arts and related subjects and topics.
The UNIT treats school History as being taught on a curricular spectrum that ranges from History as a stand-alone subject to being one element in a fully integrated, cross disciplinary thematic scheme of work such as the Rose Review of the Primary Curriculum and the Cambridge Review has recommended, see Primary History 53, Autumn 2009.
