Dogs of the Deadlands

Review by Ben
This book was amazing - I could feel what the scene was like and also, I could picture what it was like in my head when the author was describing it. I really enjoyed it. The character I found most interesting was Bratan: he had bad legs and limped everywhere, but he was still a great fighter. I also learnt something about history that I didn't know before - there was a terrible nuclear disaster in 1986 in Ukraine. The time it was set in was interesting because I didn't know that there was a disaster at that time in Ukraine. I didn't really know much about this period in history before I read the book. The plot was thought-provoking and serious, but also exciting at times. This book has inspired me to want to know more about the accident in Ukraine in 1986. I will highly recommend this book to other pupils if they like history and dogs.
