As a Senior Leader, there may be barriers to supporting line managing a subject as a non-specialist. This new short course is aimed primarily at non-specialist senior leaders and is designed to address these issues by blending practical and theory-based CPD to support non-subject specialist line managers of history departments. 

In this course, designed to fit around a busy workload, participants can expect to: 

• Gain a working knowledge of effective curriculum design and teaching in secondary history
• Build a meaningful understanding of assessment in history
• Explore strategies to conduct subject evaluation through a subject-sensitive lens
• Learn how to support history subject leaders to implement a rigorous curriculum 

Each cohort takes place through a series of short films. This will be followed by an online meeting which will allow participants to reflect on the course content and ask questions of experienced middle and senior leaders. The webinar will also include discussion and advice on supporting history departments to ensure their curriculum is representative and has appropriate breadth.

What does it cost?
