On-demand webinar: Change and Continuity

Secondary webinar recording release for 2023–24

By Katie Hall

Webinar series: Making substantive and disciplinary knowledge work together in the secondary history curriculum

Session 2: Change and Continuity

This series of four webinars looks at ways of assessing disciplinary knowledge so that it is working alongside, and pushing forwards, substantive knowledge. This webinar will concentrate on the disciplinary concepts of change and continuity, looking at how history teachers have theorised about teaching it and how we can make imaginative and engaging decisions about assessment.

This series is suitable for teachers who are interested in beginning to make curricular decisions such as new or aspiring Heads of Department or any other history teachers who are interested in improving their understanding of disciplinary concepts. The webinars will focus on Key Stage 3, with a consideration of what this means for study in Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.

Release date: Friday 1 September 2023
Expiry date: Wednesday 31 August 2024
