Government launches call for evidence on antisemitism in schools
In the aftermath of horrific antisemitic attacks in recent times in Britain and across Europe, the government is seeking to better understand the extent of antisemitism in British schools. An independent review into antisemitism in schools and colleges in England, led by Sir David Bell, has launched a call for evidence, to help shape the findings and recommendations of the review.
The review is calling for students, parents, teachers and others who may have experienced or witnessed antisemitism in schools and colleges to come forward and share their experience, which will help to shape the outcomes of the independent review.
Given the reported rise in antisemitic incidents in schools, we encourage all our member schools to participate and to disseminate this call for evidence to help the government gain a better understanding of how schools must be supported to prevent and challenge antisemitism wherever it exists in communities. The Historical Association is committed to challenging antisemitism, racism and other forms of prejudice.
