Introducing the President of the HA
We are delighted to announce that the new President of the HA from this summer will be Professor James Daybell of Plymouth University. James has a long history as an historian of the Early modern period but has also written extensively on other areas of history and related subjects. He is currently Associate Dean with responsibility fo research at Plymouth and has a many years of experience on presenting history in different public spaces as well as in the academic world.
There will be a fuller article on our new president in the next edition of HA News.
Professor Daybell will take up the post when Professor Alexandra Walsham steps down at the end of her three years as President. We would like to thank Professor Walsham for her commitment and guidance of the HA over the last few years. She has provided some of the most fascinating and illuminating of HA Conference keynotes as well as being a regular contributor to the talks put on by our branches. As is the case with all our former presidents we will continue to work with her in the future and wish her continued success in her own career.
