At the Kennington office (known as 59a) we have a small but active team of professional officers working to support you daily. However, we are also vitally supported by the inspirational work of hundreds of volunteers across the UK, from historians and academics to education specialists and enthusiasts who make up our committees, contribute to our journals, deliver events, and organise our local branches network – all with the unifying aim of furthering the HA’s core vision: the ‘history of all for all’.
Since its inception in 1906, that bringing together of the whole history community to share expertise and passion for the subject is one of the things that makes the HA so unique.
We know that your time is precious but hope you will take the opportunity to get involved however you are able to. By getting to know other members, sharing your feedback, taking part in activities, and contributing to the rich tradition of historical debate, your voice will be heard.
As well as opening up a world of historical and professional support, your membership is crucial in helping to protect the HA’s ongoing work as an independent charity. Simply by being a member you are an important part of this. Thank you so much for your valued support. Welcome on board, and we look forward to working with you!
With best wishes from the HA team.
