Often, primary schools and secondary schools are seen as separate entities. But why?

At primary, is it our responsibility to nurture our children and to encourage them only until they finish their primary education after the Year 6 SATs? Do we then just wave goodbye as they embark on their new school journey through secondary education?

Whether we teach at primary or secondary, we should see ourselves as jointly responsible for each individual’s whole education journey. To ensure the best experience for our children and to guarantee the best opportunities for progression across the curriculum, it is vital to develop strong collaboration between schools. During their primary education, why not work with our secondary colleagues to help ensure that our children are armed with the skills needed to succeed as they move on through their school career?...
