In this session, we take a look at the key events from the foundations of Rome and the early kings, through the fall of the Republic and into the time of Rome's first emperors. We encounter remarkable figures such as Julius Caesar, Augustus, Cleopatra and Hannibal, consider how Rome interacted with its neighbours, including Egypt and Britain, and understand the legacy of this great empire.
