The Historian magazine

The Historian is the HA’s flagship general interest magazine, offering in‑depth yet highly readable history written by leading experts alongside unique research from HA members. It provides a rich and wide‑ranging mix of articles, reviews, and original content you won’t find anywhere else, making it an essential read for anyone passionate about history. Historian members receive new editions quarterly and access to the full archive.

Published continuously since 1912, History is a distinguished journal featuring insightful articles by leading historians. Spanning diverse periods, regions, and themes, its archive offers a wealth of scholarly content  both past and present – and is freely accessible to HA members.

HA film series

Members gain access to all our interpretations film series, providing the latest scholarship and subject updates from expert contributors. Series covered to date include power and authority in Germany 1871-1991, the African American Civil Rights Movement, Russian leaders in the twentieth century, Tudor royal authority. This year we continue a major series on Power and freedom in Britain and Ireland: 1714-2010.
