Should we?

In recent times, it is easy to recognize that there has been a general move towards promoting outside activities across all manner of organizations and groups. For instance, organisations such as The National Trust and Ordnance Survey are keen to promote outdoor experiences in their literature. An online presence advocates getting outside and enjoying the natural world. Hashtags, such as #GetOutside encourage people to explore, experience and share their adventures in the great outdoors, while the National Trust has explored similar themes through their innovation 50 things to do before you are 11¾. For schools, the great outdoors has always been a part of lessons and, it could be argued, is therefore not a recent innovation. Most people, however old they are, will recall a school trip that they took part in during their formative years...
