CPD: Beyond the Ballot and Peterloo to the Pankhursts MOOCs

Beyond the Ballot MOOC (CPD)
Explore the history of the struggle for women’s suffrage and equality with this course developed by Royal Holloway, University of London, and the UK Parliament. With content from the Parliamentary Archives, the Women’s Library collection at the LSE Library and The National Archives; engaging videos, articles and quizzes; and a wealth of links to additional free resources, Beyond the Ballot is a great way to contextualise the people, movements and milestones that led to women’s suffrage in 1918 and 1928.
This is a four week, five hours per week, course. Teachers have six weeks access to the course from the point of signing up for free at FutureLearn but can purchase an upgrade for permanent access. Created as part of Royal Holloway’s Citizens project, teachers can also access much of the featured video content in the course via the project’s History Hub YouTube channel, making it easy to use its resources, like dramatic readings of primary sources, in the classroom. Peterloo to the Pankhursts MOOC (CPD)
Explore the history of radicalism and reform in the nineteenth century with this sweeping course developed by Royal Holloway, University of London, and the People’s History Museum. With content from the Parliamentary Archives, the History of Parliament Trust and The National Archives; engaging videos, articles and quizzes; and a wealth of links to additional free resources, Peterloo to the Pankhursts is a great way to contextualise the people, movements and milestones that led to Britain becoming a democracy.
