First, Dina Fainberg explores Soviet relations with the world under Nikita Khrushchev: the Cold War and competition with the US, the space race, and outreach to decolonising nations in the Global South. James Rodgers follows with a talk on the way that President Vladimir Putin has drawn on history to promote domestic and foreign policy objectives during his time in office, and also include some thoughts on the challenges for journalists on covering big moments in history. Finally, there was a chance for questions and Anna Whitelock discusses doing History at university, tips on applying and an introduction to City's new BA course in History Politics and Journalism.
