Lynne Minett studied History to degree level and is now Head of Learning at the National Railway Museum in York. Studying History helps her to being collections to life for visitors of all ages because it taught her contextual understanding and skills, how to read and present data in an unbiased way (if necessary) and how to understand different points of view and perspectives. Her advice would be: keep your options open! Lots of careers have different pathways into them and the transferable skills you learn from History are always relevant.
