Jatinder Kailey studied history up to A-level, and particularly enjoyed studying British imperial rule in India because it allowed her to discuss the topic and stories with her parents who are first generation migrants. Jatinder now works as a Community Assistant Producer for Historic Royal Palaces at the Tower of London. Her work consists of long-term community engagement programmes, training group leaders, as well as other short-term projects at different HRP sites.

Her background in history has given her greater awareness of the importance of local history, which she has a personal interest in. Her advice when considering to study history is to keep an open mind and talk with as many people who have followed a history route at university to better understand the journey it can take you on.
