A-level challenges: enthusing modern teenagers about 'draperies'

Ever wondered if there is a streak of masochism in those designing A-level history syllabi? The absence of the Spanish Armada from the current Edexcel breadth study in favour of (among other delights) ‘the new draperies’ prompts this question. But the challenge of enthusing modern teenagers with woollen cloth can be met by melding trade and migration together and by using the fantastic England’s Immigrants database to do some really worthwhile research. This is based on the Edexcel Paper 1 Option B but could easily be adapted for other courses and for younger age groups too...
