Rebecca Maclean completed an undergraduate degree in History and is currently Brand Marketing Manager at the paint and wallpaper company Farrow & Ball. She wanted to go into Public Relations and knew that History would give her the skills necessary, but also options in case she changed her mind. It’s about weighing up evidence and using it to create a coherent argument, which is a big part of what she now does. History taught her skills which help with taking insights and information from clients in order to create strategies, as well as writing skills to communicate clearly with customers. Her advice would be: choose the subjects that you enjoy! If you want to find a career that you love, starting with a subject that you love with help you get there and with History there are so many skills that can be applied in different situations.
